The amount was been delivered to Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited on Sunday afternoon, they added.

“We’ve been informed that the SBI Bangladesh Office suspended the employee for alleged involvement in the incident of missing cash in the BB’s vault area,” a senior central banker told BBN in Dhaka.

The central banker also said the BB has asked the SBI Bangladesh Office to inform the central bank after taking exemplary punishment against the employee.

The central bank of Bangladesh also assigned its executive director Ahmed Jamal to see as to whether there remained any loopholes in the security system at the highly sensitive area of the BB, according to the central banker.
