Italian national shot dead in Bangladesh capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- An Italian national was shot dead in Dhaka’s Gulshan diplomatic zone on Monday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Tavella Cesare, 60, technical director of the Netherlands-based non-governmental organisation ‘ICCO Cooperation’, a police official confirmed.
Motorcycle riding youths gunned down the man at Road 90 in Gulshan-2 around 6:15pm, the official added.
A group of 3-4 youths rescued him and took him to nearby United Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Hospital officials said Tavella Cesare was brought in dead and there were multiple gunshot wounds on his body.
