Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Saturday declared countrywide three-day agitation programs from October 20 to protest the government notice for eviction of its chairperson Khaleda Zia from her cantonment residence.
BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain announced the programs at a rally in city’s Muktangon, protesting the government's repression, harassment of political rivals and politicization of bureaucracy and the judiciary.
On October 20, demonstration will be held in divisional headquarters. In Dhaka city the rally will be held at Muktangon, according to the programs.
On October 24 the demonstration at district levels across the country while on October 27 rallies will be held in all cities (Mohanagari), thanas and upazila under the cities.
BNP organized the rally to protest the Sirajganj train accident and the murder of Natore Baraigram upazila chairman Sanaullah Noor Babu, who was also a local BNP leader.
