Shahjalal Bank to go for offshore banking at Dhaka EPZ

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) is going to set-up a branch for offshore banking in Dhaka EPZ area soon as the Bank obtained licence from the central bank recently.

In this context, the bank signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) at the head office of BEPZA on Tuesday.

Managing Director of SJIBL Muhammad Ali and Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Prasanta Bhushan Barua signed the agreement on behalf of' their respective organizations.

Among others, Executive Chairman of BEPZA Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed Khan and Deputy Managing Director Md Jillur Rahman and Executive Vice President Md Mohashin Miah of the bank and high officials from both the organizations were present on the occasion.
