Dhaka stocks fall slightly for third session

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka stocks continued to witness slight fall for the third session in a row amid volatility on Wednesday, market operators said.

The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) inched down by 0.10 percent or 8.67 points to end at 7931.61.

The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) closed at 6596.59 with a slight drop of 0.09 per cent or 6.02 points. The DSE-20 Index comprising blue chips lost 0.19 per cent or 9.31 points to 4651.78.

Week- long rally in the heavyweight banking issues came to an end as the investors took profit, pulling the market slightly lower, they said.

Turnover decreased to BDT 21.93 billion, down about 12 percent over the previous session. Gainers took a strong lead over the losers as out of 246 issues traded, 143 advanced, 49 declined and four remained unchanged.
