Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the prime bourse of Bangladesh, resumed after nearly an one and half hours of suspension on Sunday due to a technical glitch.
The trading resumed at 12noon and will continue till 4:00pm today.
Share transactions usually begin at 10:30am and close at 2:30pm in every working day.
Earlier, a web post on DSE site reads: “The time to begin trading (10:30am) on the country’s premier bourse has been pushed back due to technical problems. The time to start Sunday’s trade will be communicated to the investors once the technical problem is solved.”
“DSE IT Department is working to resolve the technical problem. As soon as the problems are resolved, trading will resume on the main bourse,” Deputy General Manager at the DSE (PR) Shafiqur Rahman told the BBN.
With today's disruption, the technical glitch this year halted the trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange for fourth times.
Meanwhile, the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – opened on time at 10:30am.
The Selective Category Index - CSCX - of the port city bourse went down by 6.70 points to stand at 8,409.98, at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 48 gained, 50 declined and 18 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 30 million.
