Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Standard Chartered Bank is working for a newly-introduced product for women entrepreneurs at the Banking Fair Bangladesh-2015 to empower the women.
The bank focused the product titled ‘Orjon’ during the banking period to attract the women entrepreneurs, Nawshad Khan, the business development officer of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), told the BBN on Tuesday during the fair.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The women entrepreneurs, who hold majority number of the share of a company, will be allowed to get credit facility from the SCB, he said.
The entrepreneurs must have three years business experience to avail the credit facility.
The entrepreneurs require a minimum annual sales turnover of BDT 1.60 crore to be eligible for applying the loan.
The private banker said that his bank was also focusing the internet banking during the fair.
The bank will provide its clients the internet banking facility without imposing any charge if they (clients) open accounts.
The clients will be allowed to make transaction of maximum BDT 5 lakh in a day through the internet banking.
The SCB also put importance on school banking for the student during the fair.
The students will be able to open accounts with the SCB without keeping any balance.
