Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - State Bank of India Ltd popularised its newly introduced international travel card at the Banking Fair Bangladesh-2015 to facilitate the businesspeople and travellers who frequently move abroad.
The clients will be able to use the foreign currency debit card in any country of the world but Bangladesh and Israel, Jahirul Islam, assistant officer of State Bank of India, told the BBN on fair premises.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy ground in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The international travel card holder will not require opening any account with the bank to use the card.
The client will have to pay only BDT 920 to get ownership of the international card.
“The clients will deposit their money with the card by taking cooperation of the bank. He or she will have to pay one per cent charge to the bank against their deposited amount with the international travel card,” the private banker said.
The clients will be allowed to withdraw money from any ATM booth operated by the visa card across the world.
The clients will also able to do shopping and pay hotel bill by the travel card.
