Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Visitors are interested to see similar banking fair at divisions, districts and upzila level across the country to bring unbanked people into the banking network.
They also proposed the authorities concerned for taking necessary measures for organising same fair at different parts of the country.
“The authorities concerned should take necessary measures to arrange such fair at district and upzila level to raise public awareness about banking products and services,” Monowar Hossain, a retired government official, told the BBN on fair premises in Dhaka.
Mr Hossain also said the bankers should go to the customers for selling their products and services across the country instead of the capital Dhaka.
Hossain Alam, a private service holder, also echoed Mr Hossain saying such types of fair should be arranged at district level.
The banks should go door-to-door for bringing more people into the banking system through raising public awareness about banking products and services, he added.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair for the first time in Bangladesh on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday aiming to build a banking nation through boosting the ongoing financial inclusion campaign across the country.
All 56 scheduled banks, six non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) and seven financial services related organisations are taking part at the fair to display their products and services.
