Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka Bank Ltd is encouraging the apparel workers at the Banking Fair Bangladesh-2015 to deposit their hard-earned money with the bank as it has recently introduced a special product for them.
The deposit product for the garment worker is named “Zoma” and the bank will provide four per cent interest rate against the savings amount of the workers, Rana Kumar Shaha, a senior officer of Dhaka Bank, told the BBN during the ongoing fair.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The ready-garment workers will be allowed to open the account with keeping deposit amount of BDT 100.
The bank will provide free cheque book, ATM card to its clients under the product.
The bank will count daily-basis interest for the savings account of the workers and they will withdraw the profit after end of every month, Mr Shaha said.
Dhaka Bank is also highlighting another savings product at the fair for the students namely ‘Students Ledger’.
Under the product, the students will enjoy four per cent interest rate against their savings amount.
The bank will provide free ATM card and cheque book to the students to operate their accounts.
