Film festival on liberation begins on January 5

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The 5th International Festival of Docufilms on Liberation and Human Rights will begin at the National Public Library in the capital Dhaka on January 5, organizers have said.

Films will be screened in two sections: international and national. The national section will be a competition and the national section will have two categories: one is open to all and the other is limited to young film makers who are credited with the making of one of two films, said festival director Fauzia Khan.

Prospective participants need to send in their entries along with two DVD copies of documentary films, synopsis, filmography and three still photographs to the museum office by December 20. Details are available on the museum web site (www.liberationwarmuseum.org), they added.

The film festival, which the museum has been holding since 2007 an annual event, will also feature competitions, seminars, exchange of views and exhibitions. The event will mark the 40th year of independence.
