Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-LankaBangla Finance witnessed the highest market participation last week on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that ended on Thursday.
According to statistics from the DSE, some 34.20 million shares of LankaBangla Finance worth BDT 1.19 billion changed hands, which was 5.98 per cent of the premier bourse’s week’s total turnover.
The average daily turnover for the company was BDT 297 million.
Each share of the company closed at BDT 37.5 on Thursday, the last trading session of the week, registering an increase of 34.41 per cent over the previous week.
Share price of LankaBangla Finance also saw substantial gain last week as the company recommended healthy dividend last week, analysts said.
The Board of Directors of LankaBangla Finance has recommended 15 per cent cash dividend and 15 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2015 on Tuesday last.
LankaBangla Finance has also reported consolidated net profit after tax of BDT 420.93 million, consolidated EPS of BDT 1.76, consolidated NAV per share of BDT 26.02 and consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of BDT 12.33 for the year ended on December 31, 2015.
In 2014, the company disbursed 10 percent cash and 10 percent stock dividend.
LankaBangla Finance was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2006. The financial institutions sector company belongs to the “A” category.
The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 2,406.4 million and authorised capital is BDT 3,000 million while total number of securities is 240,643,434, according to statistics from the DSE.
The sponsor-directors own 38.56 per cent stake in the LankaBangla Finance, while institutional investors own 28.22 per cent, foreign investors 3.45 per cent and the general public 29.88 per cent.
LankaBangla Finance was followed by BSRM with shares worth BDT 1.17 billion changing hands followed by Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 739 million, IFAD Autos BDT 704 million, United Power BDT 637 million, Quasem Drycells BDT 521 million and Beximco Pharma BDT 481 million.
Square Pharmaceuticals was also included in the top ten turnover list with shares of BDT 471 million changing hands followed by Aman Feed BDT 371 million and CMC Kamal BDT 361 million.
