US Under Secretary Sewall travels to Thailand, Bangladesh

Washington, DC (BBN) - Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Sarah Sewall is on travel to Thailand and Bangladesh, March 25-31.
In Thailand, Under Secretary Sewall will meet with government officials and civil society representatives to affirm U.S. support for an inclusive process as Thailand pursues its roadmap to restore democratic governance, an official announcement said.
She also will discuss ensuring respect for human rights, combating trafficking in persons, protecting refugees and other vulnerable populations, and enhancing regional law enforcement cooperation.
In Bangladesh, Under Secretary Sewall will meet with government officials and civil society representatives to discuss governance issues and cooperation in countering violent extremism.
She will also deliver a public lecture, “Our Shared Struggle against Violent Extremism,” at Dhaka University, it added.
