Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks continued its upward trend after witnessing early hour on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the port city bourse of the country, opened with a positive note when the market opened at 10:30am and hold the positive trend at midday.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 20.56 points while the port city bourse, selective category index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 21.34 points around 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 20.56 points or 0.48 per cent to stand at 4,347.20 points, when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 12.06 points or 0.71 per cent to reach at 1,701.59 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 6.52 points or 0.61 per cent to reach at 1,068.55 points.
However, DSE turnover was slow as total turnover stands at BDT 1.72 billion when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 154 advanced, 86 declined and 54 issues remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 150 million changing hands till then, followed by RAK Ceramics, BSRM, Unique Hotel & Resorts Ltd, Orion Infusion Ltd, and BATBC.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw positive trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– advancing 21.34 points to stand at 8,121.07 points, also at 12:28pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 103 gained, 56 declined 30 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 92 million.
