Bangladesh’s stocks open mix trend

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed mixed trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the opening session of the week as investors followed cautious stance.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced volatility trend at the opening.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 4.69 points, while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) lost 3.42 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 4.69 points or 0.11 per cent to stand at 4,397.57 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 1.52 points or 0.14 per cent to reach at 1,078.99 points.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 1.59 points or 0.09 per cent to reach at 1,717.63 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 240 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 84 advanced, 49 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 27 million changing hands till then, followed by CMC Kamal, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries, Shahjibazar Power and MJL BD.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse saw downward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– falling 3.42 points to stand at 8,236.86 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 33 gained, 10 declined 7 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 10.50 million.
