Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed mixed trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday amid volatility, the third trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced mixed trend at the opening.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 1.99 points, while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) declined 2.06 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 1.99 points or 0.05 per cent to stand at 4,396.05 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 0.39 points or 0.03 per cent to reach at 1,074.03 points.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 0.80 points or 0.05 per cent to reach at 1,703.96 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 300 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 70 advanced, 56 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Company dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 88 million changing hands till then, followed by MJL BD, Orion Infusion, Familytex BD and Golden Harvest Agro Industries.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– falling 2.06 points to stand at 8,233.42 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 30 gained, 16 declined 12 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 13 million.
