Bangladesh’s stocks down at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed negative trend in early hour of trading on Thursday amid volatility, the last trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced negative trend.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined 5.82 points, while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) fell 1.70 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 5.82 points or 0.13 per cent to stand at 4,360.22 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 2.65 points or 0.16 per cent to reach at 1,690.36 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 1.29 points or 0.12 per cent to reach at 1,067.19 points.
DSE turnover stands at only BDT 176 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 61 advanced, 60 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged.
United Power dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 37 million changing hands till then, followed by Far East Knitting and Dyeing, Tosrifa Industries, Shahjibazar Power Company and Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– falling 1.70 points to stand at 8,175.50 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 19 gained, 18 declined 14 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 30 million.
