Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Monday, the second trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 9.72 points, while the selective category index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 7.46 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 9.72 points or 0.36 per cent to stand at 4,436.49 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 6.18 points or 0.36 per cent to reach at 1,740.92 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.72 points or 0.34 per cent to reach at 1,095.35 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 451 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 91 advanced, 47 declined and 40 issues remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 99 million changing hands till then, followed by Saif Powertec, Shahjibazar Power Company, MJL BD and United Airways.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw upward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– advancing 7.46 points to stand at 8,298.88 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 39 gained, 22 declined 13 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 27 million.
