Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday amid marginal volatility, the fourth trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 6.04 points, while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 12.19 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 6.04 points or 0.14 per cent to stand at 4,425.43 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 1.65 points or 0.15 per cent to reach at 1,093.52 points.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 0.84 points or 0.04 per cent to reach at 1,744.95 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 254 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 118 advanced, 31 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged.
Doreen Power Generations and Systems dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 37 million changing hands till then, followed by Titas Gas, Daffodil Computers, Lafarge Surma Cement and Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw upward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– advancing 12.19 points to stand at 8,299.55 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 41 gained, 16 declined 7 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 28 million.
