Bangladesh’s stocks mixed at midday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks turned mixed after witnessing early hour upward movement on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the port city bourse of the country, opened with a positive note within 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
But as the time passed DSE failed to hold the trend while CSE were positive at midday.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange lost by fractional 0.89 points while the port city bourse, selective catagory index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange earned 13.83 points at 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 0.89 points or 0.02 per cent to stand at 4,418.50 points, when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 1.50 points or 0.14 per cent to reach at 1,090.37 points.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also fell 3.53 points or 0.20 per cent to reach at 1,742.27 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.61 billion when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 132 advanced, 102 declined and 69 issues remained unchanged.
Titas Gas the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 119 million changing hands till then, followed by, Lafarge Surma Cement, Doreen Power Generations and Systems, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries, Daffodil Computers, and CMC Kamal.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw upward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– advancing 13.83 points to stand at 8,301.18 points, also at 12:24pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 88 gained, 64 declined 27 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 111 million.
