One more Boeing 767 joins GMG fleet

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Country's largest private carrier GMG Airlines has taken the delivery of its second Boeing 767-300 aircraft. The newly inducted aircraft with 250 seating capacity would be used to operate flights to the Middle Eastern countries.

With induction of this new aircraft, the fleet size of GMG now reaches to eight. The company plans to add more aircraft in its expanding fleet to introduce new routes and destinations to become most preferred airline in the region.

Shayan Fazlul Rahman, Chairman of GMG Airlines, Shahab Sattar, MD of GMG Airlines received the aircraft at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The civil aviation and tourism minister, GM Quader, and the BEximco Group vice-chairman, Salman F Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.

The airlines, owned by Beximco, started operation with domestic services in April 1998 and launched international flights in September 2004 with flights between Chittagong and Kolkata.

The GMG’s international routes now include Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Karachi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Riyadh, the airlines said.
