Bangladesh’s stocks continue positive at midday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks continued its upward trend after witnessing early hour on Thursday, the last trading session of the week as well as the budget day.
The Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will unveil the national budget for the fiscal year (FY) 2016-17 at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today at 3:00pm.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the port city bourse of the country, opened with a positive note when the market opened at 10:30am and hold the positive trend at midday.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced 9.99 points while the port city bourse, selective category index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 17.32 points around 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 9.99 points or 0.23 per cent to stand at 4,431.78 points, when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 8.50 points or 0.49 per cent to reach at 1,754.62 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.33 points or 0.31 per cent to reach at 1,094.88 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 2.33 billion when the report was filed at 12:31pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 129 advanced, 101 declined and 69 issues remained unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Company dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 153 million changing hands till then, followed by, United Airways, BSCCL, United Power, Lafarge Surma Cement and Titas Gas.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw positive trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– gaining 17.32 points to stand at 8,301.09 points, also at 12:22pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 74 gained, 66 declined 33 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 121 million.
