Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Trading and official activities at Bangladesh’s stock markets will remain closed for nine days from today (Friday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr including weekly holidays, officials said.
According to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) officials, the Eid vacation will begin from July 3 and continue till July 7. But July 1, 2 and July 8, 9 are weekly holidays. As a result, the total vacation will be for nine days.
Trading and official activities will also remain closed at port city bourse the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) during these holidays, said a CSE official.
The trading and official activities on both bourses will resume from July 10.
After Eid vacation, trading and office activities will come to regular time. Trading will begin at 10:30am and continue till 2:30pm, while office will open from 9:30am to 5:30pm in every working day.
However, trading will remain open on July 16 (Saturday) on the bourses in line with all government offices including financial institutions, said a DSE statement.
