Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed downward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday with marginal volatility, the third trading session of the week.
Both bourses -- the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend when filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE fell 4.14 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost by 10.76 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 4.14 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 4,564.98 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw negative trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 2.37 points or 0.13 percent to reach at 1,783.28 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also declined 2.38 points or 0.21 percent to reach at 1,118.75 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 345 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company.
Of the issues traded till then, 91 advanced, 45 declined and 46 issues remained unchanged.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 50 million changing hands till then, followed by MJL Bangladesh, National Polymer, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills and Mithun Knitting.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–falling 10.76 points to stand at 8,551.76 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 28 gained, 20 declined and 10 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12 million.
BBN/AD/SR
