Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday, the third session of the week.
Both bourses - the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend till the report was filing at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 5.85 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 3.90 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 5.85 points or 0.12 percent to stand at 4,696.99 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 2.33 points or 0.13 percent to reach at 1,781.02 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 0.51 points or 0.05 percent to stand at 1,124.55 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 357 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on the Evince Textiles and Singer Bangladesh.
Of the issues traded till then, 111 advanced, 49 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged.
Evince Textiles dominated the turnover chart following its dividend declaration with shares worth BDT 27 million changing hands till then, followed by Singer Bangladesh, Argon Denim, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and Yeakin Polymer.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive with slow trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 3.90 points to stand at 8,783.88 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 44 gained, 30 declined and 15 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 18 million.
