Doubts over Hyderabad hosting Bangladesh Test

Last updated: January 9, 2017

Hyderabad, India (BBN) - The BCCI has been left shocked after the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) informed the governing body about its inability to host the only Test match between India and Bangladesh.
The Test match was supposed to be held between February 8 and February 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, but the HCA has now withdrawn from hosting it due to lack of funds, reports sport360.com.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) too has backed out from hosting the two-under-19 Tests between India and England at Chennai, scheduled to begin from February 13 and February 21 respectively.
A senior BCCI office bearer, discharged off his duties by the apex court’s order delivered on January 3, had informed of the possibility of full-member associations, not offering venues for matches scheduled by the BCCI.
India will be playing a four-match Test series at home against Australia after the one-off Test against Bangladesh and this decision by some of the associations might just make the BCCI worry a bit.
