Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks keep morning hour’s positive trend at midday on Thursday amid choppy trading as investors were active both sides of trading fence.
The market opened with a positive note, crossing the 5,500-mark within first 5 minutes of trading, advancing 12 points.
It stayed positive zone till 15 minutes of trading. But at next 10 minutes it fell to 5,472 points, losing all the initial gains.
After 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 3.12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 8.70 points when the report was filing at 11:00am.
At 12:00 noon, DSEX advanced 7.96 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 7.22 points when the report was filing.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After one and a half hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) reached at 5,496.20 points, advancing 7.96 points or 0.15 per cent when the report was filing at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 2.07 points or 0.10 per cent to reach at 1995.94 points at 12:00 noon.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 1.87 points or 0.14 per cent to reach at 1,280.28 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.66 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon riding on LankaBangla Finance and Saif Powertec.
LankaBangla dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 246 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Saif Powertec BDT 226 million, IDLC Finance BDT 174 million, IFAD Autos BDT 131 million and Al-Arafa Islami Bank BDT 124 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 163 advanced, 101 declined and 52 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till 12:00 noon as its Selective Category Index – CSCX –gaining 7.22 points to stand at 10,298.84 points, also at 12:00 noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 85 gained, 89 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with BDT 197 million in turnover.
