Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as enthusiastic investors remained active on sector specific stocks amid optimism.
The market opened with an optimistic note and the key index of the premier bourse rose 16.88 points within first 15 minutes of trading at 10:45am.
The upward trend continued with no sign of reversal amid buying spree on sector specific issues. After 30 minutes of trading, the key index reached at 5,588 points, advancing 29.36 points at 11:00am.
At 12:00 noon, DSEX advanced 17.62 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 50.52 points when the report was filing.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After one and a half hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,576.19 points, advancing 17.62 points or 0.32 per cent when the report was filing at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 5.68 points or 0.28 per cent to reach at 2,030.43 points at 12:00 noon.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.72 points or 0.36 per cent to reach at 1,303.74 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 4.66 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon largely driven by LankaBangla Finance as investors grabbed its share following dividend recommendation and earnings disclosure news.
LankaBangla dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 425 million changing hands till then, followed by Beximco Pharma BDT 151 million, Appollo Ispat Complex BDT 147 million, ACI Formulations BDT 136 million and IDLC Finance BDT 126 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 184 advanced, 70 declined and 58 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till 12:00 noon as its Selective Category Index – CSCX –gaining 50.52 points to stand at 10,471.26 points, also at 12:00 noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 125 gained, 47 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 229 million in turnover.
