Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited organized a day long shariah awareness program in Dhaka, on Saturday.
The Central Zone of Dhaka arranged the program at Mohammad Younus Auditorium of Islami Bank Tower, said a press release.
Arastoo Khan, Chairman, Board of Directors of the bank addressed the inaugural ceremony as chief guest.
Md. Abdul Hamid Miah, Managing Director & CEO of the Bank addressed the program as special guest.
Dr. Mohammad Abdus Samad, Member Secretary, Shariah Supervisory Committee of the bank addressed the program as chief discussant while Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Executive Vice President and Head of Dhaka Central Zone was in the chair.
Md. Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director, Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Executive Vice President and top executives of the bank along with Head of Branches under Dhaka central zone and clients were present in the program.
Arastoo Khan said in his speech as chief guest, Islami Bank will fully comply its institutional preamble the principle of Islamic Shariah in all of its operations.
No compromise in fulfilling the principles of Shariah to be tolerated, he added.
He advised all officials of the bank to maintain Shariah principles strictly.
The success of Islamic Banking depends on fulfilling its principles, he added.
He said, the bank will always refrain it from the transactions prohibited by Shariah.
Md. Abdul Hamid Miah said, IBBL has been working as a model in complying Shariah in the islamic banking sector of the country.
He called upon the clients and bankers for complying Shariah principles with full awareness.
