Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The central bank’s board has asked its top management for taking precautionary measures in each floor of its offices to avert fire incident in future.
The instruction was given at a meeting of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) board of directors, held at its headquarters in Dhaka on Monday with BB Governor Fazle Kabir in the chair.
Talking to BBN, a BB top official said the board has agreed to bear extra expenses, if necessary, for the precautionary measures.
He also said two probe teams are now working to investigate the fire incident, which occurred in the BB headquarters on Thursday night.
The BB’s three-member committee, headed by its Executive Director Ahmed Jamal, quizzed the officials concerned regarding the fire incident on Monday.
“The committee may submit their report to the governor today (Tuesday),” another BB official said.
On the other hand, the Fire Service and Civil Defence earlier formed a five-member committee, led by its Deputy Director (Dhaka) Samarandra Nath Biswas on the same incident.
