Bangladesh’s stocks stay positive at midday on Tuesday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as investors continued their buying appetite on sector specific stocks amid optimism.
After ending modestly higher in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid increasing turnover value.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 17 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 23 points at 10:45am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 22 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 26 points at 10:30am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 11.08 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 20 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,809 points, advancing 11.08 points or 0.19 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also stayed positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 3.01 points or 0.14 percent to reach at 2128 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone, advancing 2.59 points or 0.19 percent to reach at 1,315 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.64 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Fu-Wang Food was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 122 million changing hands, followed by Generation Next Fashions BDT 118 million, LankaBangla Finance BDT 114 million, Shahjibazar Power BDT 113 million, and City Bank BDT 110 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 165 advanced, 92 declined and 61 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 20 points to stand at 10,891 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 99 gained, 46 declined and 37 issues remained unchanged with BDT 128 in turnover.
