Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed upbeat trend at midday on Monday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
After crossing the major bourse’s key index 6,300-mark for the first time since its inception in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 33 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse gained 103 points at 10:15am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX gained 29 points while CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse rose 86 points at 10:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced more than 29 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse gained 74 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,336 points, advancing 29.14 points or 0.46 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 5.42 points or 0.22 percent to reach at 2,295 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 13 points or 0.97 percent to stand at 1,397 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 4.14 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
AB Bank emerged as turnover leader with shares worth BDT 565 million changing hands, followed by LankaBangla Finance BDT 345 million, Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 240 million, Dhaka Bank BDT 232 million and FAS Finance BDT 115 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 117 advanced, 79 declined and 62 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with its CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) – advancing 74 points to reach at 19,612 points.
The Selective Category Index – CSCX – also gained 45 points to stand at 11,877 points, also at 12pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 84 gained, 71 declined and 20 issues remained unchanged with BDT 170 million in turnover.
