Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in upbeat trend at midday on Wednesday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s marginal correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 29 points while the All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 64 points at 10:15am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX gained 19 points while CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse rose 53 points at 10:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced more than 22 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse 78 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,304 points, advancing 22.58 points or 0.36 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 4.63 points or 0.20 percent to reach at 2,273 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 9.26 points or 0.67 percent to stand at 1,391 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.50 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
LankaBangla Finance emerged as turnover leader with shares worth BDT 195 million changing hands, followed by CMC Kamal BDT 178 million, AB Bank BDT 176 million, Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 145 million and United Power BDT 129 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 182 advanced, 88 declined and 39 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with its CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) –advancing 78 points to reach at 19,574 points.
The Selective Category Index – CSCX – also gained 47 points to stand at 11,813 points, also at 12pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 110 gained, 48 declined and 15 issues remained unchanged with BDT 145 million in turnover.
