Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in positive trend at midday on Thursday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 26 points while the All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 23 points at 10:15am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX gained 34 points while CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse rose 84 points at 10:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced more than 36.52 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) of port city bourse 5.66 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,326 points, advancing 36.52 points or 0.37 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 8.40 points or 0.37 percent to reach at 2,279 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 5.66 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 1,395 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 4.16 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
LankaBangla Finance emerged as turnover leader with shares worth BDT 442 million changing hands, followed by AB Bank BDT 189 million, BD Thai Aluminum BDT 144 million, United Power BDT 140 million and Paramount Textiles BDT 135 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 191 advanced, 78 declined and 38 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with its CSE All Shares Price Index (CAPSI) –advancing 124 points to reach at 19,589 points.
The Selective Category Index – CSCX – also gained 74 points to stand at 11,8857 points, also at 12pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 105 gained, 53 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 145 million in turnover 201 million.
