Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks turned volatile at midday on Tuesday as cautious investors started to book some profit on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s marginal correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 15 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 32 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX rose more than 23 points while CSE All Shares Price Index advanced 39 points at 11:00am. After the time, both the bourses started to decline.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced 1.73 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 19 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,304 points, advancing only 1.73 points or 0.03 percent at 12noon.
However, the two other indices saw downward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 2.08 points or 0.09 percent to reach at 2,265 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 0.65 point to reach at 1,386 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.30 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
United Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 195 million changing hands, followed by Standard Bank BDT 154 million, Golden Harvest Agro Industries BDT 127 million, CMC Kamal BDT 108 million and Pubali Bank BDT 101 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 163 advanced, 102 declined and 50 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – gaining 19 points to stand at 19,526 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 9.0 points to reach at 11,813 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 101 gained, 64 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 168 million in turnover.
