Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in positive trend at midday on Thursday as optimistic investors continued their buying appetite on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s marginal gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher, but turnover remained low.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 24 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 41 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 28 points while CSE All Shares Price Index rose 54 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 27 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 97 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,306 points, advancing 27.44 points or 0.44 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 7.54 points or 0.33 percent to reach at 2,268 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 2.10 points or 0.15 percent to reach at 1,383 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.92 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Brac Bank was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 151 million changing hands, closely followed by United Power BDT 77 million, AB Bank BDT 67 million, Confidence Cement BDT 65 million and IFAD Autos BDT 64 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 162 advanced, 87 declined and 59 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – gaining 97 points to stand at 19,517 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 60 points to reach at 11,808 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 88 gained, 52 declined and 33 issues remained unchanged with BDT 73 million in turnover.
