Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise large-cap stocks.
Following the previous four days’ downturn, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher, but trading activities remains low.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 21 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 49 points at 10:45am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 31 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 59 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 25 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 70 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,222 points, gaining 25.23 points or 0.41 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 4.30 points or 0.19 percent to reach at 2,250 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.60 points or 0.11 percent to reach at 1,377 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.26 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Aamra Networks was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 53 million changing hands, closely followed by GP BDT 48 million, Doreen Power BDT 43 million, Square Pharma BDT 42 million and Legacy Footwear BDT 38 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 181 advanced, 79 declined and 52 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – advancing 70 points to stand at 19,248 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also advanced 42 points to reach at 11,637 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 81 gained, 46 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 69 million in turnover.
