JU, FSIB sign deal to establish new department

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Fellowship for Social Investment, Bergen (FSIB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of BDT 1.20 billion aiming to establishing new departments and taking different development activities in the university.

JU Treasurer Professor Nasir Uddin and FSIB General Secretary Sadik Hasan signed the MoU on behalf of the respective organization on Monday.

Under the deal, the FSIB, a non-profit social welfare organization of Norway, will establish a nursing institute as well as other departments of medical science in the university, a press statement said.

A trauma centre will also be established to give medical treatment to the physically challenged and paralysed persons.

Besides, FSIB will give special assistance to the educational and infrastructural development of 'Anandashala', a school of special need children on the campus.
