Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed on the positive trend at midday on Wednesday as investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s upturn, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid low trading activities.
Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 36 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 45 points at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 33 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 55 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of trading, DSEX advanced more than 22 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 70 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,369 points, advancing 22.45 points at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 7.54 points or 0.38 percent to reach at 1,988 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.24 points to stand at 1,246 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.18 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Alif Industries was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 177 million changing hands, closely followed by Beximco BDT 101 million, Khulna Power Company BDT 98 million, Monno Ceramic BDT 74 million and Berger Paints BDT 70 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 183 advanced, 93 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advanced 70 points to stand at 16,552 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 43 points to reach at 10,012 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 88 gained, 35 declined and 32 issues remained unchanged with BDT 78 million in turnover.
