Ratanpur Steel rules week’s turnover chart on DSE

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Ratanpur Steel Re-rolling Mills Limited dominated the turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.

According to statistics available with the DSE, about 17.61 million shares of Ratanpur Steel were traded, generating a turnover of BDT 1.15 billion.

It was 3.25 percent of the premier bourse’s total transaction. The total turnover stood at BDT 35.42 billion last week on the DSE.

The company’s share price closed at BDT 69.80 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, soaring 37.94 percent over the previous week.

The company’s share price traded between BDT 46.20 and BDT 85.30 in the last one year.
The company disbursed 5.0 percent cash and 17 percent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2017.

The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 1.01 billion and authorised capital is BDT 5.0 billion, while the total number of securities is 101.18 million.

The sponsor-directors own 47.03 percent stake in the company while the institutional investors 16.05 percent and the general public 36.92 percent as on May 31, 2018, the DSE data shows.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at BDT 1.90 for January-March 2018 as against BDT 2.48 for January-March 2017.

In nine months for July 2017-March 2018, EPS was BDT 5.58 as against BDT 15.15 for July 2016-March 2017.

The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was BDT 0.18 for July 2017-March 2018 as against BDT 0.76 for July 2016-March 2017.

The net asset value (NAV) per share was BDT 43.27 as on March 31, 2018 and BDT 44.60 as of June 30, 2017.

Apart from Ratanpur Steel, the most active shares of the week were, Monno Ceramic with shares of BDT 1.12 billion changing hands, followed by Grameenphone BDT 920 million, Paramount Textile BDT 896 million, Alif Industries BDT 851 million, and United Power BDT 839 million.

Beximco was also included in the week’s top turnover list with shares worth BDT 800 million changing hands, followed by Queen South Textile with BDT 699 million, Intarco Refueling Station of 613 million and Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 548 million.
