Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Habib Bank Limited, a Pakistani commercial bank working in Bangladesh, has donated BDT 0.95 million to Dhaka University (DU) in a bid to support development activities of the country’s premier university.
Ashraf M Wathra, South Asian Regional General Manager of the bank, handed over the cheque to the DU Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at the later’s office in the capital on Monday.
During the cheque hand over program, Mr Wathra assured the university authorities that the bank will continue its financial support in future for the expansion of the university.
The bank authorities also willing to take collaborative programs with the premium university including research in various fields, he added.
Professor Siddique has apprised the bank authorities for their generous donation and he sought further cooperation from the bank for the development of the university’s academic activities.
