SAARC trade fair to begin in Dhaka Friday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The 11th SAARC Trade Fair and Tourism Mart 2012 will begin in the capital Dhaka on Friday with a view to boosting regional cooperation in the area of trade, tourism and culture among the SAARC countries. 
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the three-day fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka while Commerce Minister Ghulam Mohammed Quader and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan will attend the inaugural ceremony, the organizers said
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism will jointly organize the fair.
SAARC countries are--Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. 
These countries will display export-oriented products, lifestyle, food and beverage, healthcare products, personal care and beauty products, gifts, household, art, fashion, toys and games, baby and infant products, engineering products and construction materials as well as their indigenous and service products.
There will be 300 stalls in the fair. Among these, 50 stalls for tourism, 100 stalls for the trade sector from SAARC countries other than Bangladesh, 20 stalls for SAARC observer countries and 130 stalls for Bangladesh. 
The fair will remain open for all from 10:00am to 8:00 pm everyday from March 30 to April 1 this year. 
Besides, at least six special seminars will be held during the event.
