Int’l conference on cultural diversity to begin in Bangladesh May 9

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- An international conference titled ‘Cultural Diversity Ministerial Forum of the Asia-Pacific Region 2012' will be held in the capital Dhaka from May 9 to 11.
Twenty eight countries among 44 have so far confirmed their participation in the conference, officials said. 
Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Louse, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Island, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, Marshall Islands, Timor, Nauru and Kiribati are the participating countries.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the conference while Director General of Unesco Irina Bokovo likely to be present as special guest.
