Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A three-day long national fruit fair and fortnight long fruit tree plantation begin in the capital simultaneously from June 16, officials said.
It was decided recently at an inter-ministerial meeting held at the agriculture ministry with agriculture secretary M Manzur Hossain in the chair.
Social Welfare Minister Enamul Haque Mostafa Shahid will inaugurate the fruit fair on Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) premises.
The agriculture ministry and its subordinate organizations will arrange different programs including colourful rally, seminar, discussion and distribution of fruit saplings on the occasion.
The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) will distribute 1,15,30,000 fruit tree saplings respectively.
