Dhaka stocks open sharply lower

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Stocks opened sharply lower on Wednesday, piling on losses seen in the fifth straight session in a row.  
At 12:50 am, the benchmark DSE General Index, DGEN, shed 53.16 points or 1.20 per cent to 4350.46.
    
The slow trading continued as investors preferred to stay sidelines in fear of further fall of the market. 
Turnover stood at BDT 560 million.  So far the issues traded, only 26 gained, 185 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
