Myanmar deputy foreign minister calls on Bangladesh’s foreign minister

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Deputy Foreign Minister of Myanmar U Maung Myint called on Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni at her office in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
During the meeting, the Myanmar Deputy Minister briefed Dipu Moni on the discussion held with Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes under the auspices of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC), a foreign ministry press statement said. 
Myint thanked the Bangladesh government for its support extended for the Myanmar government in dealing the recent violence in Rakhine state of the neighbouring country. 
In reply, the foreign minister assured cooperation of the Bangladesh government to Myanmar for restoring peace and harmony in the bordering state of Rakhine. 
The Myanmar deputy foreign minister is currently on a three-day visit to Bangladesh to attend the 6th Foreign Office Consultations.
