Rajshahi, Bangladesh (BBN)- The 59th founding anniversary of Rajshahi University (RU) was celebrated on Saturday vowed to build the university an ideal educational institute.
Vice Chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan inaugurated the celebration program hoisting the National Flag and the university flag on top of the university administrative building.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Nurullah, Treasurer Professor Abdur Rahman and Registrar Professor MA Bari also released pigeons as the part of the program.
To mark the day, several hundred students and teachers of the university organized a colorful procession from the university senate bhaban that paraded different streets on the campus.
A discussion titled ‘Prodiptir Prottoyee’ was also held at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium where senate and syndicate members of Rajshahi University, deans of different faculties, chairmen and directors of different institutions belonging to the university and hall provosts were participated.
Vice chancellor Abdus Sobhan presided over the Meeting while student adviser Professor Golam Sabbir Satter conducted the discussion.
The RU authority also organized a tree plantation program to mark the day while former convener of Tree Plantation Committee Prof Abdul Khaleq and Bonobondhu Jahedul Rahman Iqbal planted two trees on the campus.
The vice chancellor also urged all the university teachers and students to keep congenial atmosphere on their campus from their respective responsibility.
