Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Country’s 29 private commercial banks (PCBs) have expressed their willingness to finance the Padma bridge project at their level.
Their willingness came at an emergency meeting of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), held on July 7 last at its city office with its chairman Nazrul Islam Mazumder in the chair, a BAB statement said.
During the meeting, Chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited and Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami league Abdul Jalil made the proposal to the commercial banks for funding the Padma bridge project, it added.
