India confirms one more case of swine flu

New Delhi, India (BBN)- India reported one more case of the deadly virus of swine flu on Monday, taking the total confirmed cases to 11, the health ministry said.

"The 60 year old mother of the positive case complained of mild symptoms and also tested positive," India health ministry said in a press statement, adding that she got the infection from her son. "They are on oseltamivir. All their contacts have been put on chemoprophylaxis," it noted.

Seven cases are from Hyderabad, which also reported the first case in the country on May 16 this year.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has reported 25,288 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1 infection from 73 countries as on June 8, 2009. There have been 139 deaths.
