Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations for Class VIII students begin on Sunday across the country, officials said on Saturday.
This year around 1.91 million students under eight general education boards and the madrasah education board are likely to take part in one of the country’s largest public examinations to be held at 2,250 centres including seven overseas ones.
The nine-day junior grade examinations will end on November 15 that will be held under uniform question papers.
Around 1.56 million students under eight general education boards and 0.36 million students under the madrasah education board will sit for the examinations, they added.
The number of examinees is also higher by 47 thousand than that of the last year, they said, adding that the number of female students is 1.11 million which has superseded the number of male students which is only 0.89 million.
Some 0.149 million students are going to take the examinations second time as they failed in the last year’s examinations, according to the official statistics.
